Treehouse Queanbeyan Inc (Formerly known as Queanbeyan Children’s Special Needs Group) is a not-for-profit, community-based organisation that supports young children with additional needs in Queanbeyan, NSW and surrounding areas including the ACT. We are a registered NDIS provider. 

We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists to join our team of therapists and educators. Treehouse is an Early Intervention and Disability Inclusion Support Service offering support for children with suspected or identified developmental delay or disability from infancy to the end of primary school. We are based in the proud community of Queanbeyan, NSW (20 minutes from the heart of Canberra).

The Role Involves:

  • Providing speech therapy or occupational therapy and using your skills to improve the capacity of Treehouse clients and their families
  • Working in the centre or out in the community, e.g., in schools, preschools, childcare centres or clients’ homes
  • Helping run social-skills groups for older children
  • If you are a new graduate, you will be a part of our new graduate program which includes:
  • A 12-month plan of support for building up your skills and caseload.
  • Regular clinical supervision by experienced clinicians.

About You:

  • No matter where you are in your professional journey– new grad, mid-career, re-joining after a break or bringing along the wealth of a full career — you will be great in this position if you have:
  • Living in Australia (within easy reach of Queanbeyan)
  • A degree in Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy and current registration with Speech Pathology Australia or Ahpra
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion and dedication to improving the lives of kids and their families
  • A basic level of understanding about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with others (e.g., clients and their families, colleagues and peers, team members)
  • A commitment to delivering outcomes focused therapy intervention using evidence-based practice
  • The ability to work autonomously yet willing to improve and grow
  • The necessary documents or willing to obtain:  NSW Working With Children Check, First Aid Certificate, current Australian drivers licence
