THE OPPORTUNITY

Gas Electrical Powerzone is looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician / Field Service Technician to join our growing team.

This is primarily a Brisbane-based field service role. We prefer applicants who live in Brisbane, although candidates based on the Gold Coast or surrounding areas will also be considered. The majority of the work is located throughout Brisbane.

You will start each morning from your local area and travel to commercial kitchens and customer sites using a fully maintained company vehicle.

The majority of our work is commercial, servicing and maintaining a variety of commercial kitchen equipment. If you are a qualified electrician or tradesperson who does not have extensive commercial kitchen experience, don’t worry – we can provide training to the right qualified person and teach you the specific requirements of commercial catering equipment.

This position will suit a licensed Electrician who enjoys practical field work and has strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• $50 per hour + Superannuation + Overtime + Allowances + Company Van + Company Phone & Laptop
• Potential earnings of over $120,000 per year, depending on experience and overtime

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults across a variety of commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, dishwashers, fryers and other appliances
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
• Completing repairs and servicing to keep customer equipment operating safely and efficiently
• Attending customer sites throughout Brisbane and surrounding areas
• Providing professional and friendly customer service
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers
• Accurately recording service calls, parts used and work completed
• Keeping your technical knowledge up to date with new equipment, technology and industry developments
• Working safely and maintaining a professional standard at all customer sites

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The successful applicant will have:

• A relevant electrical trade qualification
• A current Australian electrical licence
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Electrician, Service Technician or in a similar electrical field service role is preferred
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Good practical skills and a willingness to learn
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team
• A current and clean Australian driver’s licence
• Current First Aid / CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
• Full Australian working rights
• A professional, reliable and customer-focused approach

COMMERCIAL KITCHEN EXPERIENCE

Experience working with commercial catering or kitchen equipment is highly regarded but not essential.

The majority of our work is commercial, and we understand that a qualified electrician may not have worked extensively with this type of equipment before.

If you have the right electrical qualifications, fault-finding ability and attitude, we can train you in the specific requirements of commercial kitchen equipment.

LOCATION

• We prefer applicants who are Brisbane-based, as most of the work is located in Brisbane.
• Applicants living in the Gold Coast or surrounding areas will also be considered.
• A Gold Coast position is also available.
