Speedpro is a Melbourne based, leading Concrete Contractor specialising in large scale civil infrastructure and building works. Working with Tier 1 clients across Melbourne and on some of Australia’s largest projects, Speedpro are looking to add a new Project Engineer to their growing team. Job Role


Site based position whose responsibilities will include but not be limited to:



  • Coordination of site activities;

  • Liaising with the site supervisors to ensure project requirements are met;

  • Liaising with the client to ensure that their requirements are met;

  • Ensure that all site works are carried out in accordance with the current documentation, and the contract Scope of Works;

  • Management of project documentation to ensure that most current documentation is being utlised;

  • Assist in the raising and negotiation of contract variations as they arise;

  • Procurement management - ensure that all required materials are delivered to site as required to meet project requirements. Ensure that any long lead time items are managed to arrive on site on-time;

  • Process invoices including matching dockets and cost coding as required;

  • Quantity take-offs and estimating;

  • Ensure that Site Manager/ Foreman site diary is filled out with all records including lost time, works completed, variations and any other relevant job information;

  • Ensure that all QA procedures and paper work are filled out and records taken for the relevant works and ensure that all works are completed in accordance with QA plan;

  • Ensure that all Safety Management Plan checklists and paper work is completed including formal pre-start toolbox meetings, reporting any incidents or accidents to Project Manager, and ensure that all works are carried out on site are in accordance with approved SWMS and OH+SMP

  • Coordinating and organising the concrete crews including Leading Hands, concrete tradesmen, carpenters, steel fixers and any subcontractors that are engaged directly by Speedpro;

  • Record and check all labour hours and deliveries;

  • Maintain thorough site records including variations, lost time, incident reports and drawing changes/revisions and notify Project Manager on any variations needed to be raised;

  • With the assistance of the Leading Hand, accurately read plans and specs to coordinate daily actions;

  • Effectively communicate with the principal contractor and Speedpro Industries Management to ensure that the required outcomes are being delivered upon;

  • Ensure that the procurement of labour and materials is efficient, and minimises wastage;

  • Maintain a 2 week look-ahead program at all times. Liaise with principle contractor along with Speedpro Project Manager as to the requirements of this program;

  • Manage all day to day site issues including labour issues, safety issues and HR issues;

  • Ensure all works are executed to best industry practice


The Successful Applicant



  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders;

  • Strong IT skills (proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word)

  • Ambition, drive and high-quality work, adhering to timelines;

  • Flexible with duties and working in a team and independently;

  • You will need to successfully clear a pre-employment medical;
