Rochester and Elmore District Health Service (REDHS) is situated in Rochester close to the regional centres of Echuca and Bendigo and only two hours north of Melbourne.  REDHS is an integrated rural health service, providing a broad range of acute, residential aged care, primary health programs and community care services to a population of approximately 8,600 people in the Campaspe and Bendigo Shires. Our organisation enjoys a strong relationship with our community and is focussed on delivering services to meet identified community needs.  


Community Care Manager


Ongoing Full Time/Part Time 


72 - 76 hours per fortnight, negotiable


REDHS has a fantastic career opportunity available for an experienced Allied Health Professional or Registered Nurse who wishes to join our vibrant Executive team as the Community Care Manager. The successful candidate will have significant relevant experience leading the community and primary care services of the organisation in a dynamic and innovative environment. 


Community Care services provided locally and to our surrounding townships include:



  • Allied Health – Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Social Work, Exercise Physiology and Allied Health Assistance

  • Group Exercise programs – Cardiac Rehab, Fitness for Older Persons, Strength & Balance

  • Home Care – Personal Care, Domestic Assistance, Shopping Assistance, Home Maintenance and Carer Respite

  • Social Support Group 


To be successful in the role you will have:



  • Significant experience and success providing strategic and operational leadership within a health service that provides a range of community services – including outpatient, inpatient and home-based allied health, home-care, social support services to a local community

  • Demonstrated high level ability to monitor, analyse and report on program performance, direction and future opportunities

  • Current operational experience in budget and contract management and delivering a service within agreed financial budget across a variety of funding streams

  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement projects within a community care setting, resulting in enhanced outcomes for clients

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary team, including supervising staff, ensuring accountability and working collaboratively 

  • Strategic and operational knowledge of the legislative compliance and performance measures that are required to comply with funding, contract and accreditation obligations

  • Demonstrated success in identifying the need for and leading organisational change.
