Job Description


Murray Valley Centre (MVC) Wodonga is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to work as a Disability Support Worker on a casual basis. This person will work in small group environment in a range of activities There is a possibility for this position to progress to contract hours in the future. The successful applicant will be responsible in ensuring participants receive quality services responsive and coordinated to meet individual participants needs under the NDIS.


Disability Support Workers provide support to participants to actively participate in community and Centre based activities. They have a critical role in providing high quality, safe and effective supports, that assist participants to enhance their quality of life and maximise their ability and opportunities to exercise choice and control.


Key responsibilities



  • Provide physical and social support to participants with a focus on and commitment to person-centered practice

  • To carry out tasks as described in participants individual plans and to provide support with personal care needs, community & program engagement

  • Duties may include transport and activity based assistance as well as supported access to recreation, leisure and community based programs


To be considered for this position the successful applicant will require experience in working with people with behaviours of concern and/or people on the Autism spectrum. A Certificate III or IV in Community Services would be advantageous. Knowledge, experience and understanding of the barriers faced by people with disabilities and their carers would be advantageous. You will need to demonstrate a commitment to empowering and supporting program participants to achieve their goals.


Note that this position will require an NDIS worker screening check to be conducted and possess a current Drivers License.
