Job Description


Acromat is Australia's leading manufacturer of sporting equipment and retractable tiered seating.


We are offering an exciting opportunity for a TRADES ASSISTANT WITH SOME EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH CANVAS AND VINYL.


You must have had some experience:



  • Working with vinyl and / or canvas products (cut, glue, paint etc.)

  • Assembly of products

  • Use of hand tools and power tools


Duties include:



  • Cutting foam, vinyl and fabrics

  • Glueing foam and fabrics

  • Assembly and packing of products

  • Painting products

  • Assisting tradesmen as required

  • Operating power tools and machines

  • Assisting team members in other sections as directed

  • Working reasonable overtime to suit the needs of the business


You will:



  • Supply your own tape measure, calculator, hammer, screw driver and Stanley knife

  • Supply and wear at all times, your own steel cap work boots and appropriate clothes

  • Show the willingness to follow established procedures

  • Possess the strength and fitness to work with heavy materials


Relevant experience will count highly.  It is not necessary to hold a trade qualification but it will of course be highly regarded.


You will be a 'good fit' if you are a self motivated, hard working, 'hands on' team oriented production worker with practical problem solving skills.


Working hours are Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.10pm with an RDO and you must be able to work afternoon shifts, overtime and Saturdays on an 'as required' basis to meet production needs.
