Job Description

Workshop Service Advisor 

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Service Advisor are:

• Taking and managing of bookings


• Providing quotes


• Invoicing


• Translate customer-reported problems to actionable work orders for mechanics to complete


• Order necessary parts from suppliers and double-check that they are delivered to mechanics


• Ensure repair orders are completed accurately and promptly


• Generating and maintaining all work orders and repair orders in the service database


• Entering and prioritizing work orders for techs, including planning and scheduling their duties.


• Monitoring daily open repair orders and update drivers on any changes in agreed service or time of completion

Qualifications for Service Advisor

• Working knowledge and experience of heavy diesel mechanic products, repairs, and parts


• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate customer needs to workable technician orders


• Basic knowledge of computer programs including word processing and database tools


• Organizational skills including the ability to schedule appointments, meet with customers and ensure that work is done properly


• Exceptional customer service skills based on experience


• Basic mathematics skills to prepare and process bills and customer payment


• Ability to communicate complicated heavy diesel mechanic processes to customers who may only have basic automotive knowledge

Position Details

Salary based on experience

The hours for this position are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional weekend hours as needed.
