Job Description


HavCon Engineering is a leading provider for Fabrication, Maintenance and Construction Services supporting the mining and industrial sectors in WA. With our fully equipped workshop located in Harvey, we have the opportunity for a hardworking and committed apprentice to commence a career in steel fabrication.


We are seeking motivated applicants that have a great eye for detail, good hand coordination, enjoys welding, strong commitment to safety, have a passion for the engineering and fabrication industry and have the drive to commit to a 4-year apprenticeship.


To be considered you must have the following:



  • Outstanding Attitude and commitment towards their career

  • Sound knowledge of health and safety within a workplace

  • Ability to work varied hours including weekend and evening shifts

  • Ability to get to and from Harvey for early starts

  • A willingness to learn

  • Be competent with mathematics, and willing to further develop in this area

  • Have patience and willingness for long term career development

  • An excellent hard work ethic

  • Be punctual and reliable

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings

  • Be a team player and take pride in their work

  • Positive attitude

  • Completed minimum Year 10 Education

  • Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing Drug & Alcohol test


Desirable criteria:



  • Manual Drivers Licence

  • Own reliable transport

  • Experience using hand and power tools

  • Completion of pre-apprenticeship

  • Completion of work experience in a fabrication workshop.


This is a full-time apprenticeship offering a Certificate III Trade Qualification. Training fees, PPE and other costs are all covered by HavCon Engineering.
