About the business


Deegan Marine is a Family operated and owned business that has been "Taking Tasmania Boating" for over 45 years. We stock a large range of new boats, outboards and accessories from industry-leading brands and also offer a select range of quality used boats and outboards. Our service department is an integral part of our Dealership offering a full range of servicing and maintenance solutions by qualified and factory-trained technicians.


Our accessory & chandlery department has expanded over the last few years and we are now members of the Bargain Boat Bits group. (BBB) has been operating successfully for over 25 years as Australia's major leading independent boating and marine accessories retail group.


About the role


This is a full-time position Monday to Friday 8:30 to 5:30.  Our service department provides general servicing and repairs to installation of outboards, marine electronics and equipment. This also includes installation and fitout of new boat packages.

Skills and experience


We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in boating that also has the ability, drive and motivation to learn new skills that may be needed to fulfil this position and bring value to the Business. Marine, small engines or automotive trade certificate is required. An Automotive technician looking for a challenge or change of environment will be considered as we believe you should easily adapt to late model 4 stroke outboards. Experience with 12 volt electrical will be required as this position requires rigging and installation of outboards, marine equipment and electronics to new and used boat packages. Basic computer skills are now required for diagnostics, commissioning new equipment and training etc. Attention to detail and pride in your work and performance are essential to be successful in this position
